A Quick Tour of Your Dashboard

When you log in to the Metropolitan Building Managers of New York (Metro BMNY) member website, the first page you land on is your dashboard. This page is your home base — it shows your membership status, your upcoming events, your documents, and any next steps the association is asking you to take. This page walks you through what each section means.

The welcome heading

At the very top, the dashboard greets you by your first name. Right next to your name is a small ? help button — click it any time you need to get unstuck.

The status pills

Under the welcome heading you will see two or three small colored pills:

  • Dues status — green for active, yellow for pending, red for past-due. This is the single best signal of whether the association considers your dues current.
  • Membership tierregular member (resident managers and superintendents) or associate member (vendors).
  • Lifetime Member — a gold badge that appears if the board has granted you honorary lifetime recognition. The badge is an honor extended by the board; lifetime members can still pay annual dues if they choose.

The Required actions banner

Below the status pills is a Required actions banner. The banner only appears when there is something the association needs you to do — pay dues, fill out the beneficiary form, finish your profile. Each item in the banner has its own button that takes you straight to the page you need. When everything is in order, the banner is empty and the dashboard is calm.

Getting Started checklist

Right after the task banner is a Getting Started card with a six-step checklist — welcome, complete your profile, review your insurance benefit, RSVP for an event, upload a document, explore the vendor directory. Steps you have already done show with a yellow check mark and a strikethrough. Steps you have not done show with an arrow on the right that takes you to the matching page. The card has a small × in the top-right if you want to dismiss it once everything is in order.

Upcoming events

The next section lists the next three events on the calendar. Click any event card to see the full details and RSVP. Click View all → to see the full events list. See How to RSVP for an Event for the RSVP walkthrough.

Documents and checklist

Below events, the dashboard shows your documents — any insurance certificates, license copies, or other files you have uploaded. If you are missing a required document, a gentle reminder appears here. See How to Upload a Document.

What if I see a banner that says my account needs attention?

If your dues are past the grace period, you will not see the regular dashboard at all — instead, the website routes you to a page called Membership Requires Attention. That is a separate page with its own help doc: see What to Do If You're Locked Out.

Sign out

When you are done, click Sign out at the bottom-left of the sidebar. Your session ends; the next time you visit the site you will be asked to sign in again.

If anything on your dashboard does not look right — wrong name, wrong status, missing payments — email admin@metropolitanbmny.com and we will sort it out.
