How to RSVP for an Event

The Metropolitan Building Managers of New York (Metro BMNY) holds monthly meetings, the annual golf outing, the Three Hands Grand Ball, and the holiday party every year. Signing up online lets the board plan seating, food, and guest lists. It only takes a minute.

What you need

  • Your login for the member website
  • A credit or debit card if the event has a fee
  • The date you plan to attend

Find the event

  1. Log in at portal.metropolitanbmny.com.
  2. In the left-hand sidebar, click Events (or look for the Upcoming Events section on your dashboard).
  3. Click the card for the event you want to attend.

See the details before you commit

Every event page shows you the date, the start time, the location, the address, the capacity, the RSVP deadline, and the price. Read this first. Monthly meetings are held at Playwright Irish Pub, and bigger events are at different venues around the city.

RSVP steps

  1. On the event page, scroll to the RSVP section near the bottom.
  2. Use the Additional guests dropdown to add 0 through 5 guests (pick Just me if you are coming alone).
  3. Click the RSVP to this Event button.
  4. If the event is free, the page refreshes with a green "You're RSVP'd" badge. You are done.
  5. If the event has a fee, the page will hand you off to Square's secure checkout. Enter your card details and click Pay on Square's page.
  6. After payment, you are sent back to the events list. You will also get an email receipt for your records.

If you need to cancel

Plans change — we get it. Go back to the event page; below the "You're RSVP'd" badge you will see a Cancel RSVP link. Click it and your RSVP is cancelled. If you already paid, the office will review the refund based on how close we are to the event. Cancelling at least 48 hours ahead helps everyone.

Bringing a guest

Most events welcome guests. Use the Additional guests dropdown on the event page — pick the number of people you want to bring (1 through 5). Each additional guest is charged the same per-seat price (member rate), and the total is added to your Square checkout so you cover the whole party in one transaction.

The holiday party and the Three Hands Grand Ball are the most popular guest events of the year. Sign up early — seats fill up. If an event has a hard capacity and is fully booked, the page will say Capacity reached in place of the RSVP button.
